3 steps to solving sleep problems
- Write down the themes your thoughts revolve around when you are involuntarily awake. (If you have an excessive need for sleep, write down the thoughts that it is nice to have a break from when you sleep. ) For example, you might write 'my relationship', 'my work', 'my relationship with a specific family member', or similar.
- Set aside 10 minutes during the day to look at your theme areas. Choose one specific action for each area that you think will improve your experience of that area. Maybe you write 'My work: Talk to my boss about moving one of my projects to a colleague'‘
- Agree on a time and place for the action and tell someone you trust about your plans. This commits you and sends a signal to yourself to take the task seriously.
