On parameters such as stress, self-confidence, and general satisfaction, the curve goes in the wrong direction. This applies to both students who have psychological difficulties and students who are otherwise well-functioning.
The question is: How can we change that?
Bemerk is a psychology house in Aarhus specializing in, among other things, well-being in education and at work. We offer two lectures tailored to educational institutions.
One lecture that is adapted to students - and one that is targeted at staff.
In both lectures, we present a number of relevant studies and connect the overall trends with clinical examples from Bemerk. We look at the factors in students' everyday lives that have an impact on well-being and mental well-being, and delve into the differences between well-functioning students versus students with mental health problems.
In the lecture aimed at students, we will talk about how to create a balance between schoolwork and free time, and how to spot your own avoidance behavior. We will also look at how the young brain is more vulnerable to distractions, and how to create the best conditions for concentration. There is also a focus on difficulties in managing emotions. This is to be expected of a developing brain, but is something that is further challenged by constant stimuli. The students are presented with concrete tools.
In the lecture aimed at employees, we will present relevant studies on well-being and young people, as well as our experiences from clinical practice in Bemerk. We will look at how low-level practical measures in the student's everyday life can have an impact on learning. The teachers will be trained on how to use this knowledge in practice. We will also draw on our experiences with mental health problems that are only spotted later in life, perhaps after several failed educational attempts. Therefore, we will also highlight how underlying problems can be spotted in the student's behavior, and what questions it may be relevant to ask the student. There will of course be an opportunity to ask questions.
Each lecture costs DKK 4,700.00.
